But then Jurina began an amazing walk of faith: She said "after my husband read James 1 to me about having joy no matter what you are going through. 'Surely not' I thought, after losing a baby we had waited so long for and the prospect of dying myself over the next couple of weeks. But we determined with my mother to proclaim joyful, positive words. We didn't allow the 'facts' to get out to anyone who might be negative.

Alone at hospital at night, my quiet times became the high point of my day. I experienced amazing peace. Treatment over, I resisted fear of leukaemia returning by reading the Bible for hours, devouring healing scriptures and books from Kenneth Copeland Ministries that taught me to rely on God's promises rather than what I saw or felt. God showed me not to fear and that He wanted to give me children.

One night at 4am God gave me Luke 1 where Elisabeth was told she would have a baby. My husband and I started speaking about the baby we were going to have. Every time I doubted, God strengthened me. We waited 2 years for me to be in remission before starting a family, but in November 2008 the Lord promised my mother that I would have a baby within a year.

In faith I bought a baby outfit. In December my mother came to visit 'to bless the baby' although I wasn't pregnant, but on 31 December I felt as if I was and a pregnancy test proved positive. We told no-one until I was 3 months pregnant because we only wanted faith, health and life spoken over the child.

Less than a year after God spoke to my mother, our healthy baby girl arrived (September 2009) and has given us so much joy. Every time the doctors thought there were issues with me or the baby, God gave me scripture to stand on. I have learned so much: not to fear, to forgive all, to have a delighted heart, to stand in faith, to be patient and endure, to trust God and His faithfulness, to seek Him every day.

When anxiety knocks on the door, I punch right back with the scripture I have learned and kept in my heart. 'Pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words, do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart, for they are LIFE to those who find them and health to all their flesh' (Proverbs 4:20-22).
