Diagnostic assessments are essential tools for effective teaching of English language arts and reading teachers. However, teachers are reluctant to use these tools, it can be time consuming to manage, record the grade, and analyze. Some teachers avoid diagnostic evaluations, because these teachers are focused exclusively on quality education in the basic rules or think that sanitation is (or was) the work of some other teachers. To be honest, some teachers are reluctant to diagnostic tests because the data could lead to differentiate instruction-a daunting task for any teacher. And some teachers are opposed to diagnostic evaluations, because they fear that data will be used by administrators to hold them accountable for the progress of each student.

 

To improve these concerns, agree that the ten criteria for effective ELA / reading diagnostic assessments:

 

1.
