Shopping at the Mall of America, including the amusement park inside
When looking for a campground around large cities, it is often difficult to find a suitable location close to the city. However, we found a great campground in the city of Coon Rapids, about 40 minutes from the Mall of America. The campground is Bunker Hills Campground, part of the Anoka County park system. Anoka County has two campgrounds; we chose Bunker Hills mainly because we liked the pictures of their campsites we saw online. It also has a golf course, small water park, bike trails, and riding stables. (Sidebar: This is another great example of a local government-owned destination park.) We left mid-morning Sunday to visit the Mall of America. For those of you who haven't been to the Mall of America, it's a pretty big place. The girls had been budgeting their money for this excursion, and Elizabeth even had a coupon (which she ultimately forgot at the camper). The girls planned to print out a map and prioritize which places to visit. To my surprise, most of the shops were the same as the ones in the Knoxville malls. Also, many times there were repeats of the same shop. The shop that was most impressive was the Lego store. There were bins and bins of individual Legos one could purchase in bulk. In addition, there were many characters made from Legos on display. The largest was a 34-foot tall Transformer robot made using 2.8 million Legos. IKEA is Caroline's favorite store, and since the closest one to us is in Atlanta, we decided to stop. We walked through the displays looking at the neat space-saving gadgets cleverly arranged to demonstrate them in a living space. Then we had Swedish meatballs at the cafeteria. We felt this was an appropriate meal as many Scandinavian people settled in Minnesota. The way IKEA works is there is a path you take to go through the store, which pretty much guarantees you'll see everything. So after dining at the cafeteria, we walked through the lower level where I picked up a frozen pack of IKEA mashed potatoes to take back to the camper. After all the Mall/IKEA walking, we were quite tired and ready to relax in the camper. To our surprise, about an hour after we got settled into the camper, a storm hit the area. My phone did not have good reception in the campground, but we were able to do some storm tracking with it and catch a warning of high winds in the area with a recommendation to evacuate mobile homes. After we felt a few strong gusts, we decided it might be safer to be in the truck than in the camper.Coupon Pigeon Forge - News

Best Dessert in Pigeon Forge « Coupon Fans
I’m taking a little mid-week break right now, staying in a cabin in the mountains because I needed a little break from reality. But after the lunch…and the dessert…I had today, I just had to check in with y’all, and make a recommendation. I know it’s off-topic for this blog (especially considering I didn’t even use a coupon at lunch…the horror!) but I just had to talk about this to people who might understand (my boyfriend, while a fan of food, just lacks the chromosomal appreciation for truly decadent chocolate).
I actually spent the morning Googling and searching TripAdvisor and other venues, trying to find a recommendation because I was in need of a massive dose of delicious, chocolatey dessert goodness. Y’all know what I mean. Unfortunately, pretty much everything I found either wasn’t chocoholic enough, or had gone out of business since the review was written. So I got desperate and started looking at online menus.
I finally stumbled onto Bullfish Grill, which had something called the Chocolate Dream. They also had something I could eat for a meal before it, so it looked like a winner to me. So I climbed into my car when my tummy started rumbling, and ventured out into the traffic morass that is the Parkway. Really the traffic wasn’t too bad, probably because I was heading away from Gatlinburg, rather than toward it.
Lunch was tasty, as I had the prime rib sandwich. Sandwich is a bit of a misnomer, as it’s really just a grilled slab o’ prime rib, served openface on a hoagie & smothered in a delicious mushroom gravy. The bread they serve is tasty too, if you don’t mind coarse salt on your bread (I’m a salt waster, so extra salt in my diet is actually a good thing). Then came the pièce de résistance…the Chocolate Dream.
I should preface this by saying I dearly love chocolate mousse, but only if it’s really high quality chocolate mousse. The last time I had good chocolate mousse was at a $70 per person (no joke!) dinner buffet in Fretheim, Norway. If I had known how good the mousse was going to be at the beginning of the meal, that would have been all I ate. Seriously. I could have eaten $70 of that mousse.
That was in 2005 or so. Before that I never liked chocolate mousse, because all I’d ever had was crummy stuff that tasted like the boxed Jello version of mousse. And that’s all I’ve found since. Until today.
